HHS accepts recommendations from advisory group; 2005 IDEAS Boston speaker a part of the panel

IDEAS Boston 2005 speaker Dr. Paula Johnson served on the advisory group that President Barack Obama’s administration asked to review gaps in covered services for women as part of the 2010 Affordable Care Act. On Monday, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced it had accepted the panel’s recommendations, including coverage of contraceptive care. Dr. Johnson is the executive director of the Connors Center for Women’s Health and Gender Biology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a cardiologist, and a national expert on health care disparities and cardiology care for women and minorities.
