2011 IDEAS Boston speaker Daniel Lieberman featured in the NY Times

June 10, 2011

Registration is now open for the 2011 IDEAS Boston conference at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Go to www.umb.edu/ideasboston/to register for the Oct. 20 conference and take advantage of the Early Bird discount.

One of this year’s featured speakers, Daniel Lieberman, was featured this week in the New York Times. Lieberman, a professor of human evolutionary biology at Harvard, is an advocate of barefoot running. The article, http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/06/08/are-we-built-to-run-barefoot/, examines whether we are built to run barefoot, and whether barefoot running increases or decreases the risk of skeletal injury.

Read the article and then let us know, do you think you’d be better off running barefoot?
